Job Title and Location
- Position: Medical Laboratory Technician

Purpose of the Role
The medical laboratory technician will
be responsible for performing safe, accurate, and timely laboratory testing
procedures. From specimen collection and analysis to quality control and
reporting, this role is essential in supporting medical diagnoses and patient

Key Responsibilities
Some core duties includes:
- Performing phlebotomy
(blood draws) both within and outside the facility.
- Accurately
labeling and recording test samples.
- Conducting
laboratory tests following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Operating and
maintaining both manual and automated laboratory equipment.
- Performing
antimicrobial sensitivity testing.
- Documenting and
carrying out quality control procedures.
- Utilizing the Laboratory
Information System (LIS) for data entry and reporting.
- Training and
supporting colleagues when required.
- Maintaining
safety standards, biosafety guidelines, and a clean lab environment.
These responsibilities ensure accurate diagnoses, timely test results, and effective patient care.
Required Qualifications and Experience

- Diploma in
Medical Laboratory Science/Technology.
- At least two
(2) years of relevant clinical laboratory experience.
- Valid registration
and Practicing Identification Number (PIN) from the Allied Health
Professions Council (AHPC).
